I think that evolution made cats smelling senses be able to determine if a cat was nearby so that it should be afraid. Everything is done through evolution. I don’t think this proves that the fact that cats prey on mice is not a factor. In fact, I think it is a factor because of evolution.
A couple of fearless mice could eat or bite to death one cat of middle size...
Wow that is cool that behavior of mice is so linked to instinct and genetics.
